Commercial Van Sales In America - January 2017

U.S. sales of commercial vans slid 4% in January 2017 despite growth from the larger commercial van sub-sector. Full-size commercial vans rose 3% on the strength of Chevrolet, Mercedes-Benz, and Ram sales. 

But small commercial vans, dragged down by the Ford Transit Connect's 39% drop and declines reported by the Chevrolet City Express, Nissan NV200, and Ram ProMaster City, plunged 27%, a loss of nearly 1800 sales.

Small commercial van market share consequently dropped to just 17% in January 2017, a sharp drop from the 23% result one year ago.

Small commercial van sales dropped 9% in 2016 as full-size commercial van sales jumped 15%.
