First Review of Yamaha FZ25

India Yamaha Motors Pvt Ltd launched the much awaited Bike FZ25 to its successful and popular FZ series. The new model FZ25 has been developed with a newly designed air-cooled, 249 cc, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve, single-cylinder, high-torque fuel-injected engine on a lightweight frame (148 Kgs) enabling the joy of control as the rider intends.

How Does Look FZ25
The headlamp and tank are most stand feature on Yamaha FZ25. Bike looks great but in compression of KTM Duke Rang, FZ25 nighters good nor bad, the chiselled tank stands out along with the air vents in the tank extensions. Overall design of Yamaha FZ25 is perfect. There is Step Seat and small LED Tail lamp. 140mm tyre at the rear makes it good looking bike.

What does we get from FZ25
If you spent money on FZ25 you get fully digital improve bike which could have been slightly bigger, 249cc 4 stoke single cylinder engine, Big LED head lamp and tail lamp, monoshock at the rear and disk break in both rear and front side, bike dosen’t have ABS Technology, The digital instrument console has a rev-counter, speedometer, fuel gauge and two trip meters. There is no gear position indicator, which we believe should have been given.

About the engine of FZ25
As like all Yamaha engine, engine is tune smooth. It is 249cc single cylinder air cooled setup. Maximum power output of 20.9PS at 8000 rpm and maximum torque of 20nm at 6000rpm. The cylinder is constructed with forged aluminium and the cylinder walls are coated with nickel and phosphorous. Then, there are the low friction piston rings, and all this talk about cylinder wall construction and piston rings make for less friction, translating to refined performance. The torque curve is flat and the mid-range has a lovely punch to it. It will prove to be a god-sent while riding on traffic-laden roads in the city. The five-speed gearbox works smoothly and we found the clutch to be pleasantly light. Again, riding in bumper-to-bumper traffic made easy. A crusing speed of 90-110 kmph is not a big deal for the FZ25.

Ride and Handling
Yamaha says that the new double downtube frame is all aluminium and light-weight. 148 kg with a full tank and oil, the bike is quite light, which means the bike is really manageable on the move and in the parking lot as well. the claimed fuel efficiency is 40 kmpl, giving a decent range of 560 kilometres with a 14-litre fuel tank. The ride quality is good, beautifully balanced. Neither too soft that the bike wallows nor too hard that bad roads become a problem. The bike gets a 282 mm disc up front and a 220 mm disc at the rear which is adequate but more bite would have been preferred.

Should We Buy it
If your budget around 1.2 lakh you should but it and this is good looking bike given you style and thrill on every ride.
