Netherlands April 2017
BMW i3 leader in April, Model S YTD #1
Known for being the PHEV capital of the World, the Dutch EV market had a 180º shift early this year into all-electric cars but this shift had consequences, with registrations dropping 59% YoY in April, to 357 units, the worst result in three years, without the volume of PHEV's, numbers are doomed to drop significantly as the year advances.
Looking at April results, the BMW i3 had a rare win in Dutch lands, with 80 units, with only one of them being of the Rex variety. In fact, of the 320 i3's registered this year, only 3 had a Range Extender...A bit like Norway, then.
The Hyundai Ioniq Electric won Second Place, with 64 units, while the Tesla Model S registered 48.

The Hyundai Ioniq Electric climbed to Fourth, switching places with the Tesla Model X, now waiting for the next deliveries peak (June) to shine again.
Outside the top six BEV's, three models deserve a mention, the recently arrived Second Generation Prius Plug-In registered 13 units, being the Best Selling PHEV in April, while two new important additions to the BEV field have landed this month, the new Opel Ampera-e (Chevrolet Bolt in Europe-talk) registered their first 11 units, while the revised VW e-Golf, now with a 36 kWh battery, also had its first delivery month, by registering 17 units. Expect both models to jump quickly into the Top 10 soon.
In the manufacturers ranking, Tesla is head and shoulders in the lead (32% share, down 1%), followed by the new Second Placed BMW (14%, up 1%), with Nissan (Also 14%, down 1%) now closing the podium.
