BMW ahead of the pack 

EV Sales continue on the rise in Portugal, with sales in 2017 up 88% YoY to 1.289 units, with the Plug-in Share at a record 1.3%, with the PEV fleet of passenger cars having just surpassed the 5.000 units.

At this pace, we expect 2017 to end at some 2.500-3.000 3.500-4.000 registrations by year end, with the EV Share ending firmly north of the 1,5% barrier.

After years of underwelming performances, the Renault Zoe finally rose to the expectations, leading the market with 238 registrations, already above the result achieved in the whole of 2016.

The Second Place is in the hands wheels of its Alliance cousin, with the Nissan Leaf selling in enough volume (31 units last month) to be the runner-up, a significant feat for ageing nameplate, with Nissan now harnessing the fruits for spreading the word since the beggining, back in 2010, now making the Leaf synonymous with EV in Portugal.

Another popular brand is BMW, placing three models in the Top 10, which has been profiting from the company car business to pull the BMW 330e to Third Place overall, while also being the best selling PHEV.

Finally, Mercedes GLC350e registered a record 18 units last month, thus replicating the success that the SUV has been experiencing across Europe and reaching #8.

In the manufacturers ranking, thanks to a strong lineup, BMW is baack in the lead, with 28% share, followed by Renault (19%) and Mercedes (14%).
