2018 Volvo XC90 Comes With Standard 3-Row Layout In USA
Volvo has made a minor adjustment to the XC90 for the 2018MY, though it's one that could mean a lot to consumers, as all versions of the mid-size SUV now get a 3-row layout, at no additional cost.
Adding the extra seats in the boot is standard even on the base T5 trim level, reports CarsDirect, as confirmed by the online configurator, which gives the Swedish vehicle a clear advantage over the BMW X5, whose third-row is available as an optional extra.
The additional seats fold fully flat into the boot floor. This means that all versions of the 2018 Volvo XC90 have a maximum volume of 85.7cu-ft (2,427L) with the two rear rows of seats folded down, 41.8cu-ft (1,184L) with the second row up, and 15.8cu-ft (447L) when all seats are in place.
Volvo's XC90 starts from $46,900 in T5 Momentum, and $54,050 in T6 guise, whereas the R-Design and Inscription versions of the car can be had from $52,300 and $59,150, respectively.
For the top-of-the-line Excellence, the Swedish firm is asking $104,900, but leftover 2017MY examples benefit from a $20,000 discount, in addition to a "conquest" bonus that slices a further $3,500. Moreover, some dealers offer discounts of their own, so make sure you check the market before making a deposit for one.
