BMW leads hot market
Poland is the largest automotive market in Eastern Europe, with over 500.000 units on a yearly basis, but regarding plugins, it is lagging behind, but now the winds of change are coming, with some 700 units registered in the first 2 months of 2020, sales are up an impressive 170% YoY, with its PEV Share now at a record 0.9%, helped by the fact that the overall market is down a significant 13%.
After winning the 2019 Best Seller title with the small i3, BMW is at it again, this time with the 330e sport sedan, but with only 12 units separating the leader from the #5 VW Passat GTE, anything can still happen here.
The Nissan Leaf is the Best Selling BEV, with 53 units, but with the BMW i3 (50 units) and Hyundai Kona EV (49) not far off, the BEV trophy is also up for discussion.
Outside this Top 5, a reference for the Seat e-Mii EV, that landed in February with 31 units, while the Skoda Superb PHEV also landed last month, with its first 5 registrations.
In the Manufacturers trophy, things are also pretty balanced, with last year winner, BMW, in the lead, with 17% share, being closely followed by Volkswagen and Kia, both with 13% share, while #4 Audi (11%) and #5 Volvo (10%), are not far behind.
