Remember When The Porsche 911 Turbo Was Sold With A Six-Speed Manual?

While the new 992-generation Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S models are capable of hypercar levels of acceleration, we suspect you could have just as much fun driving this 2002 996 911 Turbo, complete with a six-speed manual transmission.

Porsche stopped offering the 911 Turbo with a six-speed manual after the 997-generation, and while that has helped establish the Turbo as an absolute weapon in a straight line, a PDK transmission simply can’t give you the same level of feel as a stick shift. This particular 911 Turbo may be almost two decades old but it is still very fast and could prove to be quite a bargain.

The Bring A Trailer listing reveals the car was originally sold new in Illinois and has previously resided in Texas, Wisconsin, and Minnesota before the current owner registered it in Iowa and then in California. It is being sold with a Carfax report, factory documentation, and a clean California title.

The bodywork is painted in Polar Silver Metallic that is nicely complemented by a set of 18-inch aftermarket wheels wrapped in Sumitomo HTR Z2 tires that measure 225/40 at the front and 295/30 at the rear. Braking is provided by four-piston calipers with ventilated and cross-drilled discs at all four corners.

Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine rated at 415 hp and 415 lb-ft (562 Nm). The car currently has 55,000 miles (88,513 km) on the clock. At the time of writing, and with three days left until the auction ends, the highest bid stood at $30,000.
