Facelifted 2020 BMW 7-Series Flashes 8-Series Inspiration

Fresh spy shots have surfaced of the facelifted BMW 7-Series wearing very little camouflage and looking much more impressive than the current model.

It is immediately obvious that BMW designers have been influenced by many of the brand’s recent concepts in creating the refreshed 7-Series. With that in mind, we can see part of a larger-than-life kidney front grille. The grille might not just enjoy aesthetic changes either. In fact, it appears that the vertical slats are active and could potentially close to improve aerodynamics.

Furthermore, both the headlights and tailights appear to be significantly slimmer than any current BMW models, perhaps similar to those from recent 8-Series concept cars.

Aggressive bumpers are also visible at both ends. However, before you get too excited, it’s worth noting that this prototype is the V12-powered M760i model. Consequently, lesser 7-Series variants won’t be as dramatic.

Beyond the exterior modifications, some changes are also present in the cabin. For example, there’s a digital gauge cluster that appears to be plucked directly from the BMW 8-Series Concept. That’s certainly no bad thing as it is significantly more visually appealing than the digital display of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class models, for example.

The car will probably arrive towards the end of this year or in early 2019.
